Ever since we were little girls, we have held baking close to our hearts.
We watched our mothers and grandmothers bake for our families while we found ourselves always in the thick of it. As we grew into the women we are today, we both found our passion in the culinary industry.
We met over five years ago at work and quickly bonded over all thing’s food and baking.
We love bouncing new ideas and creations off each other and we challenge ourselves constantly to create tastier products. Our friendship, work ethic, and mutual passion for baking and food ultimately lead us to our new business venture the White Birch Bakery.
Our bakery name has significant meaning to us.
The white birch tree in Shannon’s Celtic (Scottish) culture symbolizes new beginnings, regeneration and hope. In Kristina’s Slovenian culture the white birch tree was always found in the warm hearth of a home. The white birch tree is also native to Canada, thus intertwining all three cultures together.
We both look forward to sharing with you our products and more importantly we look forward to forming a connection with our customers.
